Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo StateBy Adeola BadruGOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, yesterday, revealed that he will play a significant role in determining his successor upon the expiration of his term in 2027.
Speaking while receiving the report from the Committee on Review and Update of Public Service Rules and Other Regulations in the State Civil/Public Service, held at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, Makinde addressed those currently lobbying for his position.
While he emphasised his influence in the selection process, he acknowledged that the ultimate decision rests with the electorate.
His words: “I may not have the final say in who takes over, but I will have my input.
Earlier while submitting the reports and recommendations, chairman of the Committee, Chief Adebisi Adesola, said: “If implemented, these changes will result in greater output and better service delivery in line with global best practices.”..
