A crew of DStv journalists going to cover the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match were attacked and kidnapped while one of them has now been confirmed dead, SaharaReporters has learnt.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Anambra State Police Command said that joint security forces led by the command rescued six sports journalists who were kidnapped in the state while on their way to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
SaharaReporters, however, learnt on Thursday that the seventh member of the crew yet to be rescued has been killed.
A source said, "The DStv crew heading to Uyo for AFCON match coverage was attacked and kidnapped.
"One of them is Kay, a technical crew member, and he is now confirmed dead."..
