Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, disclosed on Wednesday that it paid over $2bn to content creators in 2023, marking a significant milestone in its monetisation efforts.
In the past year, Facebook has paid content creators more than $2bn for videos, reels, photos, and text posts.
With the Facebook Content Monetisation programme, creators will need to join only one monetisation programme, through which they can monetise multiple formats and track their performance with a single set of insights.
Meta stated that creators’ earnings through Facebook Content Monetisation will be tied to how their eligible content performs.
Meta announced that as of July 2024, content creators from Nigeria and Ghana can now start earning money on Facebook.
