The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested 54 suspected internet fraudsters in separate operations in Rivers and Adamawa states.
In a statement posted on X.
com on Wednesday, the EFCC disclosed that 33 suspects were apprehended at their hideouts around the Iwofe and Ogboro areas in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Meanwhile, in Yola, Adamawa State, 21 suspected internet fraudsters were reportedly arrested on Tuesday at different locations around Modibo Adamawa University.
The EFCC added that the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
PUNCH Online reported earlier that operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC arrested 24 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations within Benin City on Monday.
