‘I’m not part of the drama’ — Fayose denies interest in PDP chairmanship race

Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti state, has distanced himself from the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP has been in crisis since the 2023 presidential election, with disagreements over Umar Damagum’s position as acting national chair.

In a tweet on Saturday, Fayose said he is not interested in becoming the national chair of the party. However, a faction of the party’s national working committee (NWC) suspended Damagum as Sam Anyanwu, the national secretary, on Friday.
