Jelili Sulaimon, the suspended Chairman of Alimosho Local Government Area in Lagos State, alleges that his suspension stemmed from refusing to hand over Iyana Ipaja market revenues to Abiodun Ishola Ejigbadero, who's been accused of land-grabbing.
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday announced the indefinite suspension of the council chairman for alleged misconduct.
Ejigbadero made headlines in May 2023 when he was remanded by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State for suspected land-grabbing, fraud, and theft.
“I was suspended because they asked me to hand over Iyana Ipaja Market tolls and revenue to Ejigbadero,” the suspended chairman revealed.
“The second thing is that they claim Abiodun Ishola Ejibaduro is the owner of all land from Iyana Ipaja to Idimu.”..
