Despite speculation that pensions would be raised by up to €20, those in receipt will see a €12 weekly increase in line with all other social welfare payments.
“They have raised the minimum wage as well which means we are €50 behind minimum wage and that shows you how bad it is,” he said.
He stressed that pensioners are “standing still” following a third Budget in a row where those in receipt received only a 4pc increase.
