Rivers LG chair removes Wike’s name from admin block, honors Wali

The newly elected Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area (LGA) in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has taken down the name of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from the administrative block of the council secretariat. Wike, who hails from Rumuepirikom community within the Obio Akpor LGA, is a former governor of Rivers State and has previously served as the LG’s chairman.

Ihunwo shared a video on his X page, @AmbChijioke, showcasing the removal of Wike’s name and its replacement with Wali’s. The Action Peoples Party (APP) secured 22 council seats during the local council elections, while the Action Alliance won one seat.
