The National Youth Service Corps management has revealed that the President Bola Tinubu’s administration has yet to release funds to implement the payment of N77,000 recently approved as monthly allowance for corps members.
The Nigerian government in September approved the NYSC monthly allowance increase from N33,000 to N77,000, effective July 2024, in line with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
“However, arrears will be paid into corps members accounts with effect from July 2024.
“However, the management is making all efforts to ensure that the institution saddled with this responsibility pays the concerned Corps members as soon as possible.
We enjoin our Corps members and stakeholders to continue exercising patience and understanding with the scheme.”..
