Built by a founder and a corporate lawyer
Tellbrief helps founders get their facts in order before they talk to a lawyer. It isn’t a law firm and doesn’t give legal advice.
Why it exists
A first call with a lawyer can go mostly to the backstory: what the business does, who’s involved and what’s already signed. Tellbrief puts that in writing first, so the call can start with your questions.
You answer plain questions about what’s changing in your business. Tellbrief turns them into a brief you read, keep and can take to any lawyer.

The rules it runs on
- Names before details. The lawyer checks the names against existing clients before reading anything. If they can’t clear them, your brief is deleted unread.
- Your draft stays with you. Your answers stay in your browser tab until you send. There’s no account to make.
- Everything we keep has a deletion date. Conflict-check records are deleted 45 days after the last step, and the lawyer’s copy 14 days after it reaches them.
- No tracking. No ad trackers, analytics scripts or cookies. We don’t sell your information or use it for ads.
- A lawyer decides, not AI. AI features open only after the names clear, you confirm anything it matches, and your lawyer decides what matters legally.
- No cut of legal fees. If a lawyer takes on your matter, the scope and fee are between you and them. Tellbrief takes no share and doesn’t pay or charge for referrals.
- The brief is yours. You read the whole brief before it goes anywhere, keep the PDF and can take it to any lawyer.
Every promise on the privacy page is checked by an automated test each time the site changes.
