For family law

Know the situation before the consultation

Send new clients your Tellbrief link before the first consultation. They answer about 20 to 25 questions, most of them one tap, about their family, any court case and what they own. You check the names, including the other spouse or parent, for conflicts, then read the issues to raise.

The brief

What you’d read first

A made-up client.

Made-up example · Taylor Moreno · the first issue on the brief

1. The other parent may move far away with the children

“The kids are with me during the week, and Taylor just told me they want to move to Denver with them.”

Ask on the call

  • Who wants to move, where, and when?
  • What schedule could work after the move?
  • Is there an order now that says where the children live?

What settles it

  • Any current order or written agreement about the children

How it works

From booking to first consultation

  1. Send your link. Put it in your booking confirmation.
  2. They answer about their family, any court case and what they own. Safety comes first, as a yes or no. They’re asked to leave out account numbers, and to use a device the other person can’t see.
  3. You check the names first, including the other spouse or parent. If you decline, the brief is deleted unread.
  4. You read the brief and meet. It has the issues to raise, what to ask and the documents to request. A court date in the next two weeks is flagged at the top.

Pricing

Try it with your clients

Your first three briefs are free, then $75 a brief, never more than $199 a month per lawyer. Firms set up before April 1, 2027 pay $40 a brief, never more than $99 a month per lawyer, for a year. A month with no briefs is free, and you can stop any month. A firm of up to 5 lawyers can choose $499 a month instead, however many briefs.

We set up your link with you on a short call.

Your firm stays responsible for conflict checks and for deciding whether to take on a client. Please don’t send client information in your inquiry.

Where the return comes from

  • Quote at the first consultation. You go in knowing the family, any court dates and what they own, so you can propose the work and a fee.
  • Skip consultations you can’t take. If the names show a conflict, you decline before you meet, and the brief costs nothing.

We don’t promise results.

Your break-even

1 in 33

of your briefs has to win you one more engagement, if a new client brings in $2,500
